COVER REVEAL – Phoenix Fire, S.D. Grimm

by | 21 February 2018 | Books | 15 comments

“Don’t judge a book by it’s cover.”

People say this all the time, but honestly? We all do it anyway.

If a book has a boring cover, the book immediately seems a little ‘eh.’ But if the cover is gorgeous and beautiful? It’s 10000% more likely that I’ll pick up that book.

Today I’m so excited to be part of the cover reveal for S.D. Grimm’s Phoenix Fire. If this book isn’t already on your to-read lists, just wait a few moments…this is one of those covers that make me squeal and fangirl before even reading the book.

But first, a quick bit about the lovely author.

S. D. Grimm’s first love in writing is young adult fantasy and science fiction. That’s to be expected from someone who looks up to heroes like Captain America and Wonder Woman, has been sorted into Gryffindor, and isn’t much taller than a hobbit. Her patronus is a Red Voltron Lion, her spirit animal is Toothless, and her lightsaber is blue.

She believes that with a little faith, a lot of love, and an untamed imagination, every adventure is possible. That’s why she writes. Her office is anywhere she can curl up with her laptop and at least one large-sized dog (and sometimes a virtual pocket monster).

You can learn more about her upcoming novels at www.sdgrimm.com

Okay.

Are you ready?

One book cover coming right up.

I know, I know. It’s in the header image?? But I’m dramatic and I have half a dozen photos of this beautiful cover, so just bear with me. xD

*drum roll*

Everything about this cover gets me squealing. I love covers where the base is white, so this starts off amazingly. Add on a cool texture and then the bright colours?? It’s so beautiful it just begs to be read. And have photographs taken…And photographs shown off to everyone… 😉

(as always, photo credit goes to my wonderful sister.)

After spending her life in foster care, Ava has finally found home. But all it takes is a chance encounter with hot nerd Wyatt Wilcox for it to unravel.

Now, things are starting to change. First, the flashes of memories slowly creeping in. Memories of other lives, lives that Wyatt is somehow in. Then, the healing. Any cut? Gone.

But when Cade and Nick show up, claiming to be her brothers, things get even weirder. They tell her she’s a Phoenix, sent to protect the world from monsters—monsters she never knew existed. It’s a little hard to accept. Especially when they tell her she has to end the life of a Phoenix turned rogue, or Cade will die.

With Wyatt’s increasingly suspicious behavior, Ava’s determined to figure out what he’s hiding. Unless she can discover Wyatt’s secret in time and complete her Phoenix training, she’ll lose the life, love, and family she never thought she could have.

If that cover and back cover blurb isn’t enough to make you want to check out this book, I’m sorry for you and your sad un-bookworm-ish lack of curiosity. 😛 But if it has been enough, you can add this book to Goodreads AND pre-order on Amazon!

This beautiful book is releasing to bookshelves on the 5th of March, so IT’S ALMOST UPON US. Only twelve days, friends. I don’t know about you, but I’m definitely going to try get my hands on it.

Sorry for the spontaneous post out of my normal schedule. I figured a gorgeous cover and an epic book would be a good enough excuse. 😛

Let’s chat! Isn’t this cover amazing?? Have you read any of S.D. Grimm’s books? What is it on book covers that gets you squealing?

This is quite the amazing cover, the phoenix pops out from the white (which is not just whit on closer inspection), seems to be another book for my list. I have read Scarlet Moon and will try to read the second one soon.
However you *might* want to change your post header picture thingy so it does not have the cover in it.

Also on a totally unrelated note I would like some hints (if you have the time) on comments formatting and maybe some basic emojis.

Yes, it is! So pretty. I haven’t actually read Scarlet Moon yet, though I definitely hope too.

Hmm, I thought about having it without the cover, but I figured it didn’t really matter anyway? (In other words, I didn’t have a handy image that was bookish but not with the cover already in it. 😉 )

If you want, you can email me or use the contact form so I can give you some tips along those lines. It might get a little lengthy in comments though.

I don't know S.D. Grimm very well, but I'm subscribed to her newsletter and follow her on facebook and I've seen her and her books around plenty of times. (Online, not in real life, unfortunately 😛 )
