Be Still and Listen

by | 25 May 2018 | Life | 8 comments

In the chaos of life, it’s very easy to get lost. To get sucked into the everyday, and let that creeping feeling of stress and responsibilities overwhelm us.

Even the most chill, relaxed person in the world stresses about things. How on earth am I possibly going to fit all of this into one day? What if I fail? What if I let someone down??

Doubts and fears cloud our vision. Every morning, we wake up and it’s just another day where you have to complete this, this, and that. Then you go to bed and do it all over again.

There’s nothing wrong with being busy. There’s nothing wrong with having a job and using your skills and talents wisely. We’re designed to work, not just sit around and do nothing.

But in today’s world of busyness, we miss one hugely important call.

Be still. Listen.

In our busyness, do we stop and listen? Do we take a moment to be still and let our God speak?

Or are we ‘too busy’ for even that?

God has called us to be his ambassadors, and show his love to those around us. We can’t do that unless we go to him first and let him fill us.

I know this is a super short post, and a little rambly, but it’s been on my mind recently. So my challenge to you today: Take some time. Be still. Listen. You’re not really too busy today to be filled to overflowing by the Almighty Creator of the universe.

Have you been busy lately? Do you find it hard to stop and be still amidst all the busyness of the world? Let’s chat together.

Yes, it is kinda like that in life. Really hard to remember to just stop every now and then, particularly when there are always things around you that need doing.

    Thanks for the reminder, Jane!

Definitely! It’s so easy to get caught up in everything.

      Anytime. 🙂
